Default Camaro Radiator question

I picked up a radiator for a 1999-2001 camaro for my LS1 Chevelle project. There is a port on the right side tank that I have no idea what its for, any ideas? It's right below the port for the trans cooler line.

Is it just a single port, or is there also a return port? If it's a single port, it might be for the low coolant level sensor. I think the LT1 cars had it there, but I am not 100% sure. The LT1 radiators are pretty much the same as the LS1 radiators, so it might be there just so it is backwards compatible.

It's a single port. Large diameter, so low coolant sensor sounds right. Maybe this helps. It's the large port right under the trans cooler port.

Yea, that's definitely the low coolant sensor port. I have never seen the sensor installed - all the rads I have come across have a flat piece of plastic that slides in to cover the hole. There's probably some sort of gasket or o-ring as well.

If it's a regular cap, you should be able to push down and twist. Make sure you're pushing down hard and far enough while turning - you need to compress the spring inside and make the cap go down far enough so that the ears on the cap clear the ears on the neck. It's sort of like opening a pill bottle from the pharmacy.
