Default LS1 swap to 3rd gen, radiator hose collapsed and blew off. HELP

I have an 89 GTA that just got an LS1 installed. Factory 3rd gen radiator. My mechanic used the lower radiator hose for the swap. I think it came through Hawk's. After buttoning up the exhaust he had the car idling, the temp got up to 210 and then the hose came off. He said the hose has collapsed. The hose is smaller in diameter than where it fastens to.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Is there a better hose, one that doesn't bottleneck? Or do you think it could be the result of another issue?
Thanks for the help.

I've seen lower radiator hoses with a steel coil inside to keep them from collapsing. You might want to look into that.

I thought of that but don't know if there is one to fit this application. Thanks.

is there physical damage to the hose internal , if theres a rad restriction i can see it blowing off, maybe the clamp wasn't tight, or he had some blocked which built to much pressure and blew the weakest connection

You could use a Goodyear flexible hose. Just measure the length & diameter of your current hose and match it up.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say the original poster has fixed this problem sometime within the last 3 years....
