Transmission for 5.3 gbody swap Hey guys I've been reading a ton of these swap and have decided to do my own into a 1979 chevy el camino. The car will be registered in california so I have to smog her unfortunately. As of right now it will not be a dd but will be used quite often for long drives what budget friendly transmission would you recommend I was thinking either the 4l60e or the t56. I'm not Planning on any high horsepower in the future no more that 600 with a possible turbo. So let me know what you guys have experienced with these or other transmissions
