new intake, carb, distributor. I turn the key check the fuel pressure, i get 5-5 1/2 psi at the carb. the car will crank and crank and not fire. if i manually move the carb throttle lever to put some gas in the car fires up for 2 seconds then quickly dies. distributor was installed at 0* on the number 1 cylinder compression stroke. getting spark, air and fuel so why does it not run?

Maybe not quite enough timing. Give it a little advance, and spray some brake clean or throttle cleaner in and see if it will run that way.

crank the timing up to 6 or 8 degrees and pump the gas the next time it tries to run.
