Default Separate Neutral Safety switch required?

I'm running a 5.3/4L60e combo and included the PNP switch on side of the transmission just like a factory setup. I'm trying to finish up my wiring harness and had this question... Do I need to wire a separate Neutral Safety switch (there's one already installed on my Lokar shifter) or does the factory switch already perform that function through the PCM?

The PNP controls engine idle only does not serve as a safety switch. I wired a separate micro switch that works for park only sense I never use neutral anyway.

You can wire it either way, there is a neutral safety switch in the trans mounted switch, but you cannot just run the starter wires through it like the shifted mounted ones. You'd have to use it to wire in a starter relay. The lokar shifter mounted one would be less work.
