Default Ls6 vacuum

I bought a ls6 out of a 2005 ctsv. It has a large vacuum hose coming from the rear of the intake with a 90 degree fitting like is used on the vacuum booster on power brakes. My understanding was that I would have to use hydroboost for the brakes if I used an ls engine.

My question is, did the ls6 in the ctsv pull vacuum from the rear of the intake to pull vacuum for the brake booster or is the hose I am talking about used for something else?

Thanks
Jeff

I use that port for my brake booster on my LS6 intake.
