c5 fans what fan is fan 1 and fan 2?

hooking up c5 fans the wiring says fan 1 and fan 2.
they are off set one at the pass top and the other drivers bottom.
does it matter what fan is 1 or 2?

They're most likely wired like an F body, where both are run in series for low (fan 1) and run parallel for high (fan 2).

Generally I find Fan #1 at the lower Driver side if they are stagered... but who knows what other are doing and other manufactors do.
