'67 Firebird LS1 swap (still in progress)
I'm still building after 3.5 years (lots of rust repair, fabricating and some subtle/ some not so subtle customizing) and here's where it's at:
- LS1 383 stroker engine built at Superior Automotive Engineering
- t56 Magnum trans
- DSE suspension front & rear
- home built subframe connectors, roll cage
- flared quarters- just enough to fit a '69 T/A spoiler
- recessed tail panel
- enlarged wheel openings
- mini tubbed front & rear, notched frame rails
- Kore 3 brakes (C5 vette)
- Redline rebuilt OEM rally gauges
- recessed engine location, recessed firewall, recessed front seat mounts, elimination of rear seats
- reduced gap on doors
- reworked bumpers for close fit
- recessed battery tray in trunk
- modified fuel filler neck to fit modern pumps/ have an anti slosh valve
- lots of other minor modifications...
