Low mount passenger side Alt.?
OK so here's the scoop, I'm in the planning stages of my '47 COE build. I have a '03 1500 Silverado donor with the 4.8/L460E set-up. I will be mounting the engine mid engine style with the intake reversed and in the area behind the seat. My plan is to have the front accessories under the seat so I need to keep them as low as possible. I'm thinking I can use the PS in it's location, trim the mounting bracket, add an idler pulley and run the belt just over the water pump pulley. That being said I want to mount the alternator on the passenger side where the AC compressor is now. Does anyone make a bracket for this? I will have loads of frame clearance but I need to keep it above the bottom of the oil pan (F-body pan). In the pictures the cab is sitting at ride height, the rear view shows where the engine will be going. I will be using the Silverado chassis.
Any other ideas you guys might have would be appreciated, I have looked at the LS1 set-ups but would like get things a bit lower.
Thanks in advance,
Rob
