I understand that the current generation Camaro cars comes with an L99 and LS3 engine. The L99 has VVT, the LS3 does not.

Do they use the same water pump? Do they both have the truck accessory spacing? For a while I thought just the L99 had the truck accessory spacing, but now I'm starting to think they both do.

They both have the truck spacing. The one without the VVT has the same waterpump and will just have some open space behind it.
