Pedal and wiring?
I'm looking at doing a swap on a v6 to v8 . Is the dash wiring the same other then engine harness and ecu. And it's a 5 speed car that would be a six speed when done. Are pedals the same or different ? The car is a 01 Camaro base that will be a m6 when done.

I've heard the petals are different for engaging clutch, and I was wondering if the v6 wiring in the dash is the same as a v8 ls1 car. Basically can I plug the engine harness from a ls1 car right in to a base model v6 with no issues

The tach probably will not function correctly since it reads a v6 signal, but the rest should be okay(batt/fuel/oil/temp, I doubt it will simply plug in but you can wire it up to work. It might be easier to find a gauge cluster from an ls1 car and make it work than making the v6 work. On the ls1 vehicles the speedometer gets a signal from the computer, that reads pulses from the transmission, I'm not sure how the 5speed gets it's signal but that may be another reason to get an ls1 cluster.
