Default exhaust temps ?

While just spot checking the temps on my headers I found that one (cylinder) / exhaust header temp was way higher than the others. What are some probable causes ?? ls-1 one in a 51 Chevy truck, Sanderson headers with Magna flow exhaust. The temp was avg 75 degrees higher ????!!!!!!!

Hotter temps are usually caused by lean mixtures, have you compared the plugs to see if the hotter cylinder plug is lighter/white compared to the others? A clogged injector might be the cause.

Check the flange for an exhaust leak. But yeah.. check the injector, if you have a spare, try swapping the one that you found to cause the cyl to be high. Or swap one from another cyl.

good luck with it. Keep us posted on what you find.
