07 5.3L Keep E38 or convert to 411 ECM?
Yes I have used the search function and have not been able to find a clear answer. I just purchased an 07 5.3 and 4l60e out of a 4wd chevy silverado for an A-body swap. I got the entire works, engine, harness, tranny, pedal, etc. 70K miles for $900.
This has the e38 ECU and I assume VVT and DOD, while I admit I know very little so far about LS conversions, it seems the popular opinion is to run the 411 PCM because of it's tuning capabilities. I know I want to eliminate VVT and DOD.
Is there a standard way to do this conversion? I have read some about the Lingenfelter 58x to 24x coversion box. Just looking for a little guidance as the harness will be one of the first reworks, then converting the tranny to a 2wd configuration. Any advice or a general point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Keep the E38, it is a much more contemporary PCM and has Can-Bus as a feature. It is calibrated for the 54 tooth reluctor. In my estimation you are going backward to make a switch to the 411.
