Default Fuel Pressure Issue

I want to put in 99-04 Vortec engine in my '85 S10 and want to use a 99-02 Corvette fuel filter/regulator mounted near the tank with a external Walbro 255 fuel pump and run only one fuel line from the tank to the engine and the return line from filter/regulator back to the tank. My question is what do I do with the pressure regulator in the fuel rail with the vacuum line on it? Do I just unplug the regulator and block off the return end of the fuel rail and be done with it or is there something else I should do? Also would it run rich at idle due to the constant 58psi?

I think you are correct. At least I hope so because that is what I am doing, but have not started engine yet. I think the corvette regulator does what you need and that is how they use it on the vette motors.
