Just the car has 16k invested. If you include traveling cost for the car itself, and the trans, its at 17k. Not 33k LOL.

I would have a C6Z at that point.
Which is actually what I want, but this is a whole hands on experiance for me. I've only built up my sport bikes in the past, never really did car work because I could never afford it.

I wouldn't mind an LS3 or LS7, or even a boosted LQ4/9 but I'm doing an N/A build for reliability right now.

I'm actually traveling to Maryland tomorrow for a new roller. No body damage and all bumpers/fenders. I'll turn around and take a small loss selling my roller. It will get me on the road faster since i dont have to wait and/or pay for body work, bumpers & paint.

That's exactly what I did with my fox body project. I bought a '88 roller for 2k and it definitely needed some work. About a month later a found an '87 that was 100 times cleaner, body was very good, already had new wheels/tires, 5 lug swap, 3" cowl hood, and complete stock and good interior. Plus it was a true roller, so I didn't have to **** with pulling a motor/trans. All of that for 2600.
I sold the first car for the 2k to someone else, and ate about 300 in travel, but came out WAY ahead with the new car.

I wont even mess with a car unless the body is gtg. I dont mess with bodywork or paint and its always a loss once that gets factored in.

New roller, paid 500$ for her. It will definitely get her on the street faster then the other one since theres bare metal with no paint on parts of it.

The original owner left her weathered so she's not the nicest. Not like the pics he sent. Cut the subframe and my other one is reinforced to the motor mounts so swapped subframes

Went to Chicago today.
Picked up some iForged Equip V1s (19x8F 235/30/19 & 19x10R 275/30/19) and a MazdaSpeed Replica Bumper

Wheels are actually on my car. Bumper is on the car of the guy I bought it off of.

Some updates..

Sold the iForged,
Picked up a D1SC Procharger with 1000 miles and a Dallas Performance Direct Drive bracket.

Sheldon (chezmanbespoke on RX8club) is going to be finishing up the car for me over in Canada.
We agreed to trade short blocks since his is Iron and can hold more boost reliably.

He will be doing a custom bash bar to fit the procharger nicely along with an intercooler.
My dumbass thought it was too good of a deal to pass up. Bought it from 2Lejit who was selling his LSX S2000 here.

Now pictures and flame fest

Picked up some Enkei RPF1s in 18x9.5 with 275s on em to replace the iForged

Subframe pulled, procharger mounted

Back in place..
Looks like some clearance issues!

Sheldon has some badass magic tricks up his sleeve and got my Carbon Fiber hood to close. No clearance issues after his massaging. Makes me wonder what he does on the side for his money

You can get quicker updates on Instagram if anyone would like to follow.
Coda734 is mine, SheldonZ28 is his!

Some test fitting for inlet piping on the procharger

Purchased Tial BOV with -2 spring & a Monster LT1-S clutch.
Hopefully no more big purchases besides coilovers & cosmetics.

Still have to figure out if I'm going 8 rib with the Dallas Performance Direct drive or not.
It's meant for Vette style set up but I have F-Body Accessories.

Also have to figure out if I'm going to switch to Vette accessory drive.

That's going to be a wicked ride! My friend's LS3 Rx7 is gripless, don't know how you're going to do anything but long smoky burnouts. Going to see you on Woodward this summer?

I'm hoping the 8.8 rear end swap along with a lower gear set will help with traction. If its complete overkill, I may have to re-evaluate the SC, go back to N/A and focus more on suspension and balance.

These are smaller cars so I can't see much bigger then 295-305s on the rear without looking goofy as hell.

My girl hates woodward (& last time I went, I didn't have much fun either. Hot, and crowded)

I may bring it out for a day or so, but I will be at Lingenfelter Cars & Coffee and hopefully the Battle Creek 1/2 mile.

I might be able to hit up the C&C, never been to one, though I'm not a coffee guys, so that doesn't help. If Woodward was too hot, need to go earlier in the year, every friday/saturday evening. North of 14mile is usually a bit more chill. Thankfully my wife enjoys it, and doesn't mind letting me go if she's not up for it.

Even those tires might look odd, but I'm guessing it can be made to work. Down side of working with a platform that was focused on cornering much more than straight line I suppose.
