Default Lq4 Supercharged in a 72 Chevelle Questions

I'm doing some budgeting and weighing out possibilities for my 1972 Chevelle. Currently has a fuel injected Lt1 from a 95 Vette with a 4L80e tranny and 12 bolt rear end. Been debating on whether putting in a 496 BBC or a Lq4 402 with either a Tvs2300 or kenne bell. Budget is 10k to 12k. With a Lq4, what should I look for? Just the block? Do I need the fuel injection system or go aftermarket? Whats a good aftermarket PCM to use with this setup? I'm brand new to the FI segment so I have lots to learn. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have an LQ4 with Magnacharger in my 69 GTO. I am using a 4L60E. You can use any PCM/ECU that comes with the engine you purchase. I changed to the E40 T42 combination for the CAN-BUS feature. If I can be of any assistance I am happy to participate.

I would advocate for the LS over the conventional BBC any day. A basically stock LQ4 with the blower can make well over 400 RWHP and still get 20+ MPG.

That's a very nice setup! 600/600 would be my goal Any clearance issues with the hood?

I'm about to start the identical build. Maggy s/c and a LQ4 in my 84 El Co. Any pointers on cams and anything I need to know specifically? My goal is 500rwhp.
