Default Advice on my LQ9 warming over please

Hey All,
I have done a little home work and have a basic plan but I would like to ask for any and all input from the LS brotherhood. Building a 52 Ford pickup retro/rat/hotrod whatever. I want to be able to idle around town and cruise, take 500 mile road trips AND do at least 150mph on the salt at Bonneville.

I have an LQ9 DBW out 04 Escalade with 97K. 4L65E with stock converter, 3.5 gears and 28" tire. Basic add on parts plan is intake, cam and headers.

Intake: Fast 92mm with the LS2 90mm throttle body (want to stay dbw)

Cam: Lunati 212/218 113/109 531/531 (need vacuum for power brakes)

Headers Dougs block huggers with 1 and 3/4 primaries (narrow frame so need the tight headers)

Thank you in advance for any and all input!

Will

Do you think I would need custom tuning with this combo?

If stock the motor is rated at 360hp, how much will this stuff take it to best guess?

Guess I'll try to help you out. You'll definitely want a custom tune. Hot Rod mag tuned a 6.0 LQ9 and it was worth 30 hp. That cam you got is nice. It should be responsive at any rpm. Those headers adds 25 horses or so. You should be floating around 460 plus at crank possibly even more.

You're keeping the stock heads then?

Tusky: Thanks and I will be happy with anything north of 400

HCI200SS: Yep on the stock heads.

Want to add that rock solid reliability is paramount for this truck

400 hp was achieve with just headers, mufflers, and custom tuning. They ended up making 425 horses without doing a cam swap... ( Hot Rod Mag)
