2001 4th Gen V6 to V8 swap questions
I have done several swaps, Just not this particular one.
I have a '04 LM7 5.3L/4L60E I would like to install in a '01 Camaro 3.8L/4L60E.
Can I get the instrument cluster working with the "Green/Blue" truck PCM? (I have HP Tuners) I have a '98 (160mph)Trans-am cluster also if the early analog cluster is easier?
I have a full set of 5th Gen Camaro L99 front accessories, I believe they have the same belt spacing as truck accessories, Curious if they space to far forward for a 4th gen? The A/C compressor line hook-up's are different as well.
Other questions....
Sphon LS1 tubular K-member....Any input? Durability?
Will stock V6 front springs work? I know the iron 5.3L will lower it, But will it bottom etc. If they will just lower it....Any rear springs to level the car out?
Will the V6 trans crossmember work? I think it will & just transfer the tailhousing w/ torque arm mount over to my 300mm 4L60E.
V6 radiator work? It is an "air" car, Not sure about the core thickness differences?
Found a decent deal on a F-body oil pan thanks to this site!!!
Finding a good price on a LS6 intake has not been easy, Or even a LS1 intake for that matter. Any good sources?

Got most things squared away....I really need one question answered,
Can my '04 Blue/Green Service# 12586242, HDW# 12583660 Truck PCM be tuned to run a '99-'02 F-body cluster?

Got the car running, Everything went real smooth!
The 5th gen L99/LS3 front Accessories work/fit well in these cars, They do have the same spacing as Truck engines. Had to build my own A/C hose assembly & Power steering pressure hose.
Bought an LS1 radiator...For the Steam line.
Had to lengthen the Alternator battery lead & Shorten the Starter battery lead, Ground cable worked fine.
Went ahead with a Spohn K-member.
Running a LS2 intake with a 4-bolt to 3-bolt adaptor & a LS6 valley cover for the better PCV set-up.
Aeromotive FPR, Running the return style V6 fuel system.
LS1 heater hose assembly, Boy, That's expensive!
Installed LT1 front springs, Ride height is exactly the same as before, I figured a Iron block LM7 is similar in weight to a LT1, New Bilstein struts at the same time.
BBK headers & Y-pipe, I built the 3" system from the Y back from a universal kit, Borla muffler & single tail pipe.
Drive shaft from a '97 Z/28.
Did need a V8/Auto trans cross member. The V6 one will not work without mods.
Custom engine harness from BP Automotive.....Thanks Bill!!!!
BP also tuned my PCM, Working out minor issues now....Gas Gauge & A/C request.
The V6 rack & pinion works fine (At least my '01), I was told I needed a LS1 rack.....Yes, I know it is a slower ratio, Doesn't bother me.
Rebuilt the 7.6" rear, New Axles, Bearings, Used 2-series Auburn Posi, Thick 3.42 gears to fit the 2-series Posi, & Trick Flow cover.
Mounting the Truck DBW pedal is a PITA! But turned out good.
Before & after pics.

Thanks man, I probably could have bought a "decent" LS1 car for what I have spent....But most likely a 100,000 mile car that needs brakes, struts, & trans build.

Not to bad dropping it from the bottom, Assembling everything on an engine table then lowering the car on the engine/trans. Have about 45-50 hours in it including building the Diff, Brakes, Struts & Exhaust, I did have the engine dressed & Trans built before tearing down the car.....So not counting that.

Drove the car a few times (breaking in the gears & trans), I have 2 nit pick issues, That me nor my tuner can get fixed.
Gas gauge reads backwards, My sender puts out 40 ohm's empty, 240 ohm's full, Verified with a ohm meter., My 2004 Blue/Green PCM with a Van OS reads it backwards, Makes since...Trucks use a 240 full 40 empty sender.
Service Vehicle lamp on, In the cluster, Had a F-terminal code at first, Some tuning fixed the code, But Service Vehicle lamp still on.
Any input?
