Default 5.3 into a 98 2500

I'm thinking about swapping a 5.3 into my truck in place of the 5.7
I'm wondering what all do I need to do to the truck to get it to work the truck has a 4L80E that I really want to keep what modifications do I need to do to the transmission to get it to work
Thanks for the advice in advance

I think I would go 6.0 as most have 4l80e in them. so harness you be better off. plus torque will help move your truck better than 5.3 will in your 3/4 ton.

Search-this has been covered a thousand times,GM hub spacer and set of bolts should get it hooked up,may need to drill some holes in the flexplate.Or one of the fine vendors here can set you up with a custom flexplate and/or torque converter.I would recommend the 6.0 over the 5.3 as well.

I would look for a 6.0 also. The Lq4 was the base motor for 99-07 2500 pickups. You could go with a 99-00 and not need the spacer, but they will have iron heads. 01 and later will need a spacer, but will come with aluminum heads. I believe 05 and later came with Ls2 connecting rods. Correct me if I am wrong.
