help choosing a stall for a 5.3 fox swap
Hey yall, I am in the process of doing a 5.3 th400 swap in a 91 mustang. Looking to get some questions answered. I'm doing my build in stages. First I am going to complete the swap with a stock 2005 5.3. Then I would like to do a cam/valve train swap to a turbo cam (as long as it won't hurt me n/a). Then I will build or buy a turbo kit as needed to complete the project.
My question is this: let's say the turbo cam I'm looking at says it recommends 3600 stall, could I put that high of a stall in with the stock 5.3 and still have good drivability? Is that too much stall for the 5.3?
Also, would going with a turbo cam on an n/a engine be a bad idea? I know it's not the best cam, but will it hurt power?
thanks for your help! I know that there is no right answer. Just trying to get a general idea if this will work and still make power and be fairly drivable. everyone has opinions, let's hear them
