Default How to LS1 brakes -> 74 Nova?

Anyone know what would be involved in putting LS1 brakes (master cylinder, booster, proportioning valve, etc) into a '74 Nova? I've ripped the entire old brake system out. The only thing I plan to re-use is the in-cockpit brake pedal assembly. I've already bought new stainless lines.

Is fabrication involved? Is there a kit to make this work?

Easy to modify the brake booster to bolt right up on the firewall. Just a 1" piece of flat stock welded off the bottom the existing booster bracket then drilled to match the nova booster studs.
Master cylinder will bolt right to booster obviously and then you would just need some adapter fittings to go from the ls1 master which i believe is bubble flare to the conventional old style flare.
Ls1 camaro prop valve is built into the abs block. Easy enough to get a aftermarket or adjustable one and plumb it in. i can give you the part number for mine when i get home as im running a ls1 booster and master on my 71 nova.
There are a couple places that make he brackets to bolt the calipers onto front drum spindles.
from what ive read the 10 bolt from a ls1 camaro has the same backing plate bolt pattern as the old 10 bolts in the novas and such and all it takes is a shim to put between the axle flange and backing plate to run rear ls1 brakes. Im also going this route.

Don't the 74 Novas use basically 2nd gen f-body front suspension parts? if so, Kore3 makes brackets.

The 1969-1974 Nova shares the same front suspension as the 1967-1969 Camaro.

The '74 nova is equivalent to the 1st gen Camaro front suspension....Not the 2nd Gen Camaro.

See this link. I am not sure if the LS1 brakes are the same as the 12.8" C5/C6 brakes, but this is a kit for the Nova(X-Body)/Camaro(F-Body) first gen suspension.

http://kore3.com/proddetail.php?prod=10103-01

This is taken from the link above:
"C5/C6 front components are a significant improvement over the original equipment drum and disc configurations that were available on the early A/F/X-Bodies. The C5/C6 rotors measure ø325mm x 32mm thick (ø12.80" x 1.26") and have either directional or pillar vane construction, providing higher brake torques, additional thermal mass, improved feel and better cooling for more aggressive, sustained driving without brake fade."

This is really a very easy straight forward swap with a lot of support from the aftermarket.

Thanks for the clarification. It must be the later "disco" Novas that have the second gen f-body parts. Regardless, kore3 is an excellent option.

If it is any help. I have LS1 brakes on my 71 Nova. It is documented in my build thread. I also show you how i set up the e-brake cables using the stock pedal.
