I love LS/Stang swaps! Can I ask why the need to space the water pump outward?

I'm assuming his is the same reason as me...
I'm using a combination of truck accessories and non truck accessories. Example, my alternator bracket and power steering is from the truck, and the water pump is from an LS3. They don'w quite line up.

Working on the crossover found out that one is 2.5" v-band and the other is 3" v-band so waiting on a 3" one DAMN..ALSO MY TURBO IS TOUCHING MY HOOD DAMN.!!! Frustrating.!!! ��

Put new wheels and tires on and got 2 new 15x10 Drag Wheels for the back when I go to the drag strip...
