1998 Camaro LS1/4L60E Swap - PNP Questions
This should be an easy one but I can't find an exact answer anywhere in the search.
1998 LS1 PCM/Camaro 4L60E. Right now I have the pnp wire from the pcm grounded and the engine starts up fine. But I would obviously like to get this working for safety purposes. I have a floor shift setup from a 98 corvette so I dont think I can get it from there. It sounds like I need to wire in a neutral safety switch on the transmission to get this to work. If that is true what application do I order it for?
I assume this will also help me with backup light wiring in the future too.
thanks

would this 1995-2003-GMC-Chevy-Truck switch fit?

Truck switch wont fit a car transmission, the shift shaft isn't long enough. What is this going in? You can just use the original switch from your car, then only one wire needs to be hooked up to the PCM on a 98 camaro harness, and it just needs to be grounded in park and neutral.

An 89 chevy truck should ave it on the column. If I remember correctly, they have a backup light switch, but it isnt actually a neutral safety switch, I think those years the column physically wouldn't let the key turn in any position other than park or neutral. Is that the way yours is? If so, there will be two plugs on the switch, one for bu lights and the other one will be the one that makes contact in park and neutral.
