Default 6L80/90 Trans Linkage - Column Shift

I know I saw someone running a Lokar cable, I think the 1804 on their 6L80/90 setup, but for the life of me I can't find it. I think there were some mods made, but nothing too drastic if I recall.

What other ways have you guys made the 6L work with a column shift? For me, I'm curious about my '70 Chevelle. I think I also saw someone extend the frame pivot mount to align with the selector on the trans, but I can't seem to find that either.

Also, has anyone run the Kugel components unit or the Lokar 1809?

I use a Silverado cable to shift the 6l90 in my Dodge Dakota. The Silverado cable is really long, with the correct attachment points on both ends. I did have to use a piece of 3/4 EMT conduit as a spacer under the dash, so the throw of the cable was correct.

It has worked for over 2 years. The only glitch is that the indicator doesn't line up perfectly.

Thanks guys. I knew I had seen the Lokar 1804 on a trans before, and I'm pretty sure it was that thread.

On the Dakota, what year truck is the cable from? I"m wondering what your application looks like. Mine has a pivot on the column in the engine compartment. If you have any pics, that would be great. Actually, I just saw your BT link, so I'll look there.

I was able to use my column shifter on my Nova. I had to move the pivot ping higher, lengthen the arms of the pivot and fab up new adjustable arms. This was due to the Headers. See my build thread.
I had to work on the ration and angle of the pivot arms by adjusting the length of the arms and rods. I had looked at both the Shiftworks and Lokar shifters. But didn't think it would work on my Nova. As the location of the column and the trans shifter arm didn't match up.

I don't think this will work on a Chevelle as it uses a rod/arm from the frame to the transmission. Most likely the Lokar 1804 or something like it might be your best bet.

Yes, nice work. I wish I had the time. I think the Lokar 1804 will work and hopefully it will arrive today.
