2000 Sonoma 5.3 t56 idle issues
My 2000 Sonoma has a 5.3 with a cpw harness, ls6 intake, ported tb, 85mm screened maf, cam, long tubes, etc.
My truck has been daily driver for about 2 years at this point without any issue. A few months ago would get a random hard to start, rough idle, very low rpms, and some surging only on cold starts. If I turned the truck off and restarted it would usually run just fine. Started happening more often, so started checking stuff at work. Battery was bad, replaced it, still would do it. Replaced the battery terminals and iac and it seemed to clear up the surging, rough idle, but would still idle low and have hard starts.
Fast forward to today I cleaned the maf after work to see how it did tomorrow's cold start and after driving for about 20 minutes in traffic, all of sudden the rpms dropped to 200, then up to 500 and just sat there. No rough idle, just happily idling at 500rpm. If I wait long enough it will eventually go back to 800rpm.
So to recap have replaced battery, battery terminals, iac, cleaned maf, have no current check engine codes or history codes. What else to check to figure out my hard start and low rpm idle.
