Default jeep zj race rig. ls newbie here looking for some direction.

Hey guys this is my first post.
Me and a friend race a 95 zj every year in a 4x4 rally
Were looking for a substantial power increase
And like everyone says
Ls swap it!!!!!
Ive also got a 99 6.0 2500 gm as a parts truck.
Any one done the zj before??
I know I know use the search function I will and I have alot of reading to do!!

yes i plan on using the trans aswell its a 4l80e correct??

Yes it is a 4l80e. This shouldn't affect you since you are running the 4l80e, but keep in mind that you have a longer crankshaft. Also you have iron heads. You could swap to aluminum heads to save some weight.

I am looking at a pair of ls1 firebird head with 15,000 km on them. He's asking 400$ worth it??

That seems a little steep for stock ls1 heads. Are they ported? That is around the price of Ls6 heads. Ls6 heads would be a better choice for that price.

Well just make sure to get 99 and up aluminum heads. 97-98 had perimeter bolts for the valve covers while 99 and up had center bolt.
