Default 69 Chevelle LQ4/4L60e

The build started by pulling the BBC and trans out on the 20th, It took 4 hours of ripping stuff out and low and behold The Other Woman as my bride calls her sits nose high, she looks kinda sad sitting empty. Me and my brother Mags installed the BTR rocker conversion parts into the LQ4 and called it a night.

Target is LSfest 2016 with a possibility of driving to Milwaukee for the summer nationals. Pics to follow soon.

Car - 1969 Chevelle Malibu
DTS Custom 12 bolt, Detroit Truetrac with 4.10 gears, ford big ends at the end of the tubes to hold in the 33 spline axles,
12.19 Dynalite Willwoods 4 piston drilled and slotted rotors round out the rear end.

LQ4 2001 Silverado stock - (Rocker upgrade) going to use stock truck intake and drive set up with new stock computer and harness
4L60e from local Transmission shop

Things to follow - Heat/AC , cruise control , rebuild the seats for the long rides, coil over set up for the front and then either a little NOS or a hair dryer,

Dec 21 4 1/2 hours later and on the second test fit the LQ4 with Holleys 302-2 retro fit pan sits in the engine bay coupled to the 4L60e we picked up this afternoon. There are no clearance issues with the tie rod ends on the oil pan used UMI engine mounts but we had to swap the engine plates drivers side to passenger side to slide the motor forward that extra 1inch (great idea Mike). sore tired and thankful for a great friend to help with the swap. The test fit for the exhaust - truck manifolds are a no go but the camaro manifolds are a very nice fit. one issue to figure out is the Truck power steering pulley is about 1/32 of an inch over the side cover bolt on the power steering box. (smaller pulley maybe - ideas anyone). tomorrow is another day - should be able to pick up the PCM tomorrow. pic's being uploaded to photobucket.

Just found ryanvv355's post on the ford power steering pulley

The motor fits like a glove. Now time to pull it and paint it. Upload the pics please.

Aug 8 the car is finished, thanks to hptuners and my friend mikes hard work. Segment swap as easy thanks to 3.0 but 2.4 has its nitch. Drove the car last night only a couple of issues to short out. Squeek in the power steering pulley it needs to come out a mm or so. and the switched 12volt lead from the pcm to the alt had no power so instead of tracing it back we just put a switched 12v source to the alt, oil pressure is 38 at idle - now on to the alignment shop then Drive it like we stole it. Thanks Mike.
