Made some decent progress this week/end.
Muffler and turbo picture.
Cleaning the garage and scrapping all the metal I had took up most of my week. I was able to pull some e-fans for $35 from the junkyard.
The 2.2's oil filter sits sideways right above the frame so beware they all look like this. haha
Wanted that race car look
The TBSS manifolds are SOOO close to fitting.
Barely rubs the steering shaft I may try to modify my shaft so its thinner or notch the manifold.
Flipped up they clear the shaft but hit the stock brake line crap I might be able to move this over an inch. I have looked at it too much yet.
Plan on making a simple trans x member tomorrow after work.

Depending on how much cutting/welding you want to do, you could mount it down, but cut the mounting flange off, shorten up the 90*'s out of the head, and reweld on either the original flange, or a aftermarket. That should give you clearance on the steering shaft at least.

The manifold didn't work out but I did mange to fill my garage with grinder dust.. So I ordered some mild steel flanges off eBay and poop pipe to build a Log style manifold. I got 90's just incase I couldn't "T" right off the flange and I'm happy I did. I ran out of mig wire 2 days before welding the floor in an old k20 so I decided to tig weld it. Tomorrow my goal is to finish the hot side and start my downpipe. I only have 14 days to finish this before I move so I plan on making a lot of progress this week!
The passenger side manifold is slow cooling now. I preheated to 275 and used 308L rod so I hope it holds.

I have a few more pictures I can post. I ordered a 3" kit from vs racing and I only used both 180's, 1 90 degree bend and 1 45 degree bend. I cut up and modded every piece I used. Tried to cut down on the number of silicone couplers I used. It's kind of hard to get a good picture of the piping to the turbo.
The intercooler is mounted like this. I cut up the mounts and welded them into 90's for the tops and found a piece of scrap aluminum for the lowers. I put a lock washer on the self tapers so we will see if they stay. For the record this supported my bodyweight 185lbs.
The 180 degree "U" was too wide for how close I mounted the intercooler so I cut the center of the U out. Small pieces until it fit.
The next thing I did was turned half of the U up 45 degrees and welded it.
If you look at the bottom of the picture it comes through the rad support then comes up 45 degree towards the intake.
I then used another 45 degree bend to make it flatten out with the hood line.
Next I welded on a 90 into the intake.
I did the same cut and weld of the "U" from the turbo to intercooler its just hard to get a good picture. I ordered a 45 degree 2.5 to 3 inch coupler to connect it.
The only downside to where I placed the intercooler is I have to run hood pins now... I cut off the upper bumper mount and notched the bumper a little as well. The grill plastic support webbing stuff is all cut up to fit as well.

Got the stock width 8.8 and caltrac in and measured for a driveshaft hopefully tomorrow I'll order one locally. I removed the second leaf from the top and the overload to try and make it more squishy. It didn't lower it hardly at all.. the $150 gt500 (18x10)wheels n (275/40r18)tires fit perfect. Now I know 15's off a gt500 will fit so the craigslist hunt is on!

Tomorrow I plan on test driving it! Cam is broke in and new oil is in it!

Ran into a issue in HPtuners it's probably my noobness but when I click on OS I do not have any options it just opens a blank screen. Im trying to run a 3 bar SD so I can RTT but I'm lost. I copied all of denmahs files over from his 2500, it starts and seems okay just a little rich.

I started it up with the 3 bar and the whole tune copied and it was running a lot better! But it's midnight and I don't want the test drive to be at night so I'll wait until morning.

Great work. Tuning is a pain and theres a steep learning curve. Iv only begun to figure it out but its nice being able to make changes on the fly, its extremely satisfying
