Doing an engine swap in my father in laws 2007 Silverado with the 5.3. The timing chain tensioner let go and bad stuff happened. Lol. It's an aluminum block. I bought a 5.3 out of a wrecked 2004 Silverado. With cast iron block. I have noticed so far the cam position sensor harness is different. Also the 2004 has a knock sensor harness. Can anyone tell me what i'll need to do to make this work? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Full teardown to replace the crank or atleast the gear on it, same with the cam. 2007 and newer trucks have higher tooth count for cam/crank sensor(48 iirc) vs 2007 and older 24.

Knock sensors i believe there is a conversion harness.

For a stock truck quick flip your better off finding a 07 and newer motor vs screwing around with converting the 2004.
