In what state? Most states are not going to allow you to pull the emmisions equipment off of a late-model car. To get 800hp, you are going to ditch everything, and not a lot of states will allow that.

An 800hp emission-legal 2000 Fbody can be done with sufficient power adders on an LSX motor (pretty sure it's been done more than a few times). You can't do it with a carb though...

Actually I take that back--you could get a carb to pass 2000 vehicle emissions, if it's a state without any visual inspection for OBD2 vehicles. All you'd need to do is put together a PC with sufficient D/A outputs and write some software to simulate all of the sensors of a running LS1. Wire that up to the stock PCM, and leave the OBD2 connector in the stock location. That'd still be illegal though.

Small block + a Huge cam + a lot of compression + a carb = Any moron would hear that its been modded a lot. It might get 800 HP but you will probably get several fines just for pulling up to your local test station. Hell they might even arrest you for being dumb enough to try it. Not going to work out good for you at all.
