Default late model lsx power steering pump question

I'm installing my LH6 5.3L motor in my Jeep and apparently GM is now integrating the fluid reservoir directly onto the steering pump itself. It used to be two separate parts on earlier LSx motors. Of course in my case the reservoir is hitting the frame and I can't use it. I want to use a remote reservoir and hose to the pump return.

So I separated the pump and plastic reservoir and there is a 3/4" unthreaded hole for the return at the bottom of the pump. Does anyone know what exact size NPT tap I'll need to get so that I can install a 90deg NPT brass barb fitting?

Thanks

Unfortunately, a 1/2-14 NPT requires a drill size under 3/4". Next size up, 3/4-14 NPT, requires a 59/64" (or close) drill.

I had the same problem w/ my swap. I ended up swapping the stock pump w/ a truck version (metal reservoir). The reservoir is tucked up a lot closer to the block, so it clears the frame. I assume you used the AA engine mounts?? Your idea seems a lot easier. Good luck.
