Default Alternator Wiring Pin Out

I have been having problems with alternators on a ls1 powered 64 chevy II. When I did the harness, for some reason I cut the alternator exciter wire out. I then went back and put an ignition 12 volt power to the exciter pin. Anyhow, now I am for certain that is wrong on the 2000 up alternator. Eitherway I need to fix it. What is the pin on the pcm where the original wire went for the exicter control?
