can a gm 1500 hd harness be used for swaping or will their be to many cpu issues??

can a gm 1500 hd harness be used for swaping or will their be to many cpu issues?? the harness is drive wire and that gets just a bit costly to hook-up (peddle sep. cpu,trans hook-up ). so i guess the real ? is can this be used with a throtle body set-up or not?
