Default How To Connect TKO 500 to LS VSS

The harness I have was for an automatic, my car is a 5 speed. It is a Keisler TKO 500. I have eliminated most of the unnecessary stuff in the stock harness for my swap. I have read that using the VSS in a swap is a help when it comes to tuning the LS motor. So, here I am wanting to connect the tko vss output to the harness vss. Is this just a straight wire to wire connection? I do have HP Tuners available to me.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

As long as the TKO is a two wire VSS, and you know the pulse per rev, it should work.

So I can just connect the two wires and let it go. Color does not matter? I will give it a go and see how it works. I don't imagine I will be driving it today since there is no exhaust, only open headers.

I'm curious about this. My LS2 will have a TKO and I dont plan on any VSS connections. Where did you hear this and how would it help tuning?

Thanks.

Seems like I read somewhere on here. I am still using the mechanical speedo in my car and was not going to connect the VSS at all. Then while I was surfing, I came across it. I have no idea where I found it at though.

Without a VSS, the engine will sometimes try to die when you let off of the gas quickly, like in town at a stop light change.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I could not remember the reason for keeping the VSS.
