Default NHRA rules for a 'vert

What are the NHRA rules for a 'vert? I've heard that 13.5 is the fastest times allowed w/o a rollbar. But then I've seen a 9 second car on here without one...What exactly are the rules for our cars?? I don't want to have to buy one if I don't have to.

I ran 13.3 for awhile last year with no problems at New England Dragway. The last day of the year there were a few accidents, and I ran 13.3 again and was told I needed a rollbar so I had to go home. Some dragway's go by the new rules which say that 11.49 is the "rollbar" limit. NED still goes by 13.49. Like I said I think I could get away with a low to mid 12 src pass without it as long as nobody was crashing!!

Damn...I'd rather suck it up and buy a bar than be told to go home after 1 pass, the nearest 1/4 mile is an hour away from me, the local track is only 1/8th. Any suggestions on a bar? I heard the Wolfe is good, I'd probably go with the bolt in just in case I needed to remove it for whatever reason and I don't have a nice welder thats not flux-core.

Actual rule is 13.99 but the new rule is 13.49 for stock type running cars like no nitrous or battery removal. My track says 13.99 & other tracks do care. So you need to call your local track & if they say you need one then either don't go there or do what I do. trip the lights & count to 3/1000 & then run & subtract 3 seconds off your time or depending on how fast you are so that you dont run faster then your allowed. or run to 1000 foot mark & hit the brakes hard if your hauling ***. OR just put that expensive pain in the *** bar in the car & by the way I believe you need at least a 5 point& not a 4 point but not so sure. 5 point does not look symetrical thats all I hate them.

What is the rule at an 1/8 mile track, do we need anything at all??? If not then I'll just race my vert 1/8 only and save the hassle of all these BS rules

I don't know how many times we have addressed this, but the rules are there for our safety. That is no bullshit, convertibles running 11.00 (*7.00) to 13.49 (*8.25) roll bar mandatory. (*7.00) to (*8.25) is 1/8 mile. Wolfe does make a very good fit for our vert's.
