Why is FI so incredibly expensive for us??
I bought my complete new STS system for my Tahoe for abouy 4K. I bought a complete Vortech system for $3200. The D1 procharger is 7K and the turbo kits are like 10K!! Its the same head units and intercoolers etc.... why double the price?

When I turboed my civic I spent close to 5K just to get everything "right" and running like I wanted. I have seen kits go for 15k+ for other cars as well. Half of it is parts but the other part is exclusivity , and like dixon said, b/c they can.

Ya Ive heard this but havent found it either. Plus I think they just use Vortech and Im not willing to tap my oil pan again. I wasnt too impressed with vortech. I wouldnt even consider anything less than a self contained T trim. Besides, for that price I could get the full H/C/I from Vengeance. Now if A&A offers procharger we may have something. Is there a majic password or something? Im a little disheartened by all the modded corvettes in the Tampa Area, I need to get this thing putting out some respectable power soon!

The difference between the fbody and vette kits is only a couple of hundred dollars. The biggest thing that affects the cost is sales quantities. With fbodies or even Civics, the R&D costs can be spread out over tens of thousands of units. Also most of the shops that develop the kits are fairly small and can not just eat the R&D so they have to pass it along to the customers. Unfortunately that is just how things are.
