Default IRS and hooking

I've always heard that having IRS causes it to not hook as good as a solid rear axle. I dont really understand this. I mean it looks like the added weight of the IRS on the rear and the weight transfer would cause the tires to plant very well and hook good? Can someone enlighten me to why I'm wrong.

u can cut some low 1.30 60 ft but its hard not to break all he time but a solid rear axle car will always hook better
