I need a good brand for a cold air intake on a 98' vette, under $500

do a search there are a million threads about intakes blackwing, vararam, halltech and callaway are the most popular all give about the same results with the best being the vararam

Callaway Honker and Vararam are the two most popular, and are true "cold air" intakes that do not ingest any hot under hood air. Me personally, I have the Callaway Honker. I like the fact that its 50 state smog legal (I'm in CA), and that it relocates the MAF sensor much closer to the throttle body for better air flow reads and throttle response. Everybody has their opinion of what is the "best" though.

Yes, the meaning of a cold air intake is just that, "Cold Air". So the farther away your intake source is away from the engine heat the more dense the air molecules will be, resulting in more HP. Vararam is your best bet. Ebay has them for sale for 275.00 right now so grab em quick. They are a PITA to put on for being a CAI.
