A California Duster? Will this scratch my paint? Any suggestions for spot touch ups?

Man, this is a SUPER TOUCHY subject. I've been using one for ever with no issues. But my paint and body guy that does all of my work has informed me that he will void my paint warrentee if he finds out that Im using it.... Even the small little dust on your car is abrassive and can scratch. And the duster grags that little dust accross your paint and can leave millions of little swerl like scratches.
