LS6 Rear Cover leak after hard run???
I have a new LS 6 motor I just put together and do have some experience in doing so. Got a freaky oil leak thats got me stumped, any help would be greatly appreciate.
Upon the initial install, ran great got in several drag races no oil leaks...last run of the day felt car slowing down and rpms going up. Oil puked all over clutch, done for the day. Pulled engine found oil leaking from rear cover? Pulled cover replaced with a new one with new rear seal. Installed. Ran great no leaks for entire weekend.
Got in a drag race maxed out rev limiter and could hear alot of clattering going on. Stopped engine restarted oil pressure came up, but leak came back at rear cover again. Is there a pressure regulator for oil pump? Sounded like engine got oil starved under load and lifters were making the noise. Any idea why oil pressure would build up so high to blow rear cover seal.
Sorry for long post

6 qts of 10-30 Synthetic, motor was broken in properly with break in oil then changed out. Stock front mounted oil pump. At high rpm is there a pressure relief somewhere? This is a strange one
