Default tire sizes on c5z06

picking up some new tires this week or next, I am going to run 315/30/18 toyo r888s on the rear, what size do i need to run on the front to keep the traction control from freaking out

I searched for it but couldnt find exactly what i was looking for, all i could remember was seeing that the rear was supposed to be like .75 to 1.5 inches bigger in diameter than the front but i dont remember if that was right or not

Looks like those 315/30/18s are actually smaller in diameter than the stockers so you probably would need to go down to a 275/35/17 considering that a 275/40 is actually larger than your stock 265/40

If you run a 315/30R18 in the rear, you are installing a tire that is .6" shorter than stock. That gives you an overall diameter of 25.5", which is almost the same as your 265/40R17 front tires. Besides looking silly with bigger sidewalls in front, your active handling may get jacked up. You want to keep the front-to-rear height stagger between .75-1.00" or so.

The nitto 555r2s are much cheaper than toyos and come in 305/35/18. I'm running them now and they give great traction once you get a little heat in them.

You don't need a smaller front diameter. You can run a 315/30/18 rear. 275/40/17 front. Toyo R888. The fronts are actually a little bigger. Nothing is going to "freak out". I've been running the same size diameter front and rear for years.
