Default My brother in laws c4 vette .... dead

Long story short my brother and father in law went to jump start my bil's 86' vette. The positive and negative wires were switched (meaning the wire that was colored red was actually the negative end). A few sparks went off, cables then removed off the terminals. They then put a battery charger on the battery, went to start the car and nothing.... absolutely nothing. They put a new battery in and still nothing. So the question is this, what is fried? The car went from just about to turn over...needing a quick jump, to dead.

Doubt the computer was fried. Would have fried fuses n such first. That's what they're there for.

First off, what's it doing,..? Could the starter be seized? Just wanna make sure.

Remove both cables from battery, place cables together for 20sec.....reattach to battery terminals. Try to start. Nothing? Then find ecm diagram and start testing for signals into, and out of ecm..ofcourse, with any electrical concern, always check fuses first.

Wouldn't hurt to give.the starter a tap or two either.....which is also a good place to.check for signal inputs
