How do you reset the Oil Change Reminder?

Default How do you reset the Oil Change Reminder?

I don't have an owner's manual, and can't figure out how to reset it. Can anyone help me out??

Turn key on and pump throttle 3 times to the floor. Turn key off. Next time you turn key back on it should be reset.

This is more or less how the service tech's do it.

Why bother doing it that way? Just hit the reset button for a few seconds (with the display on oil life and the key on but engine not running)

I never understand why people do it the other way with the gas pedal when you can just hit the reset button.

what patman says is how I reset mine, go to oil life on the display then hold reset....

I agree with you on this, but consider the intangibles at work here!! maybe some of us can't get enough of flooring our 'Vettes!!! And some of us (ME!!) have a couple tickets , so this is a no risk way of using our imaginations!!

i tried hitting the reset before on the oil life screen, but maybe it didn't work because the car was running. thanks for the help!!

yes make sure car is off. I have never heard the peadal thing.

This is how every GM vehicle I've owned (since 2000) has worked....it's easier to remember how to reset it since it's the same for both of my current vehicles.
