Factory plugs for a C5 built in the spring of 1999??

Factory plugs for a C5 built in the spring of 1999?? I bought my car last year with 12k miles, it was originally leased. Today I pulled out all the plugs and they are NGK platinum plugs. I thought all the stock plugs were AC?
I cant see why anyone would have changed the plugs with less than 12k miles.

Re: Factory plugs for a C5 built in the spring of 1999?? Hi Eric, remember that GM strike of 98? AC Delco crippled GM that summer and some engines received the NGK plugs as replacements. I work for GM myself and that was the story I heard. Later
