first race in my new c6, need some advise
I raced a trans am 4.10 gears street racing slicks, and other mods. this was my first race in the car it has about 1800 miles on it wasnt for sure if i should have raced it due to it not being broken in yet. but i couldnt resist. first run went well i smoked him. but then i had trouble hooking up kept roasting the tires. what is a good rpm to launch the new c6. i am sure this has been asked before but i am new so dont bash me to much. ill be posting pics of the new c6 thursday.

Get some practice with launches. Practice with various RPM but I wouldn't go any higher than 3,000 rpm. On the track, I could cut 1.8xx 60' time with 3,000 rpm launch but on the street, I can't do that without feathering the hell out of the clutch. I think 2,000 rpm launch should be pretty good but you need to practice to have some understanding of at what point your tires are spinning or gripping.

true true. Practice practice practice bro. try feathering the clutch...or slipping it... allowing the tires to grab more then spin. It's kind of a seat in the pants type deal.
I think Ranger has a launch technique down on a forum somewhere....
...I also pulled 1.8 on street tires,...not drag radials. It is possible.

Break-in is only 500 miles (or so I thought - that's what the manual indicates). I started mashing the gas pedal at 501 miles and haven't let up since.
I launched around 2500 RPM with the Z06, feathering it. My C6 is an A6, so I can't offer suggestions specific to the C6. With the Trans Am, I had R compound tires and was able to launch at higher RPM's (enough to break the rear end once).
