Proud new owner of a z06!
I just got my 2004 Yellow Z06 today, 5k miles. I got rid of my 04 Cobra. I am soo excited, trying to figure out what to mod first. Any ideas? prices?

Congrats! As far as mods, I usually like to start with the basic bolt-ons to get the air flowing in and out better. Perhaps a cat-back exhaust and some long-tube headers with a vararam intake? That's always a great start and it compliments future mods. These cars are already freaky fast in stock form. Have fun!

Ill slap the kid if he gets a name change. Dont forget your roots..son!
I told him the same as you though. Headers for sure, and a varaam intake. Cam if he wants to take it a step further.

congrates on the purchase!!!! Z06 vettes are the ****!!!! My friend is glad that he didn't trade his t/a for a cobra, but he got a Z06 instead. He has headers and vararam/ not tuned and beat a 490rwhp cobra last night.
I would say first thing is to upgrade the intake system, I love the vararam but some guys like the callaway one. Get some nittos, and a short throw shifter. If you still want more power then get set of headers and tune the car. Also make sure you at least get a DTE trans brace and if you get wheel hop let OFF RIGHT AWAY!

LG Pro Longtube headers, BBExhaust "bullit" catback, VaraRam, and a TUNE. Please don't get heads and cam yet. I say this because you just got this car, its probably still under extended warranty, and only has 5k on the clock. Go enjoy it and learn to drive it before you start adding another 70-110 rhwp ok. I am not saying you can't drive, I am saying a Corvette drives so well it drives itself. Get used to it then upgrade. I wish I had your car. If you are close enough I'll take you for a ride and let you experience an LG Motorsports h/c car. 490 rwhp 445 rwtq !!!

The stock catback on the Z is awesome, only replace it if you want something loud. Otherwise you waste money. My buddy with his Z left on his stock Tit cat back and added LT's and catless x pipe. Sounds awesome, not overly loud but at WOT it sounds awesome.

Modding the driver will have the highest payoff going forward, because it will make you faster than most no matter the mods.

I hear ya on that bro. My FRC makes a major statement when I start it up. The BBExhaust no muffler bullit system is LOUD !!! I also have LG's Pro longtubes and catless X pipe.

I am pretty sure I will start off with the LT headers and an x-pipe, with the stock catback. Later on in a few months, when I get the feel for the car, I'd like to do an intake and tune. Later I think I'll do heads and cam. Thanks for the info guys, it helped alot with deciding how to mod it.
