Default Cable tach question

Hey guys, I just bought a '73 corvette today.

I noticed the tachometer is not working, I am assuming that it has a cable driven tach, and since the distributor that is in the car is a HEI I believe that is the problem.

my question for yall is, can you convert the tach to operate electrically? does anybody sell an electric tach that looks like the original tach? anyways, thanks for any input.

I would contact Speartech. They are a sponsor and should be able to help you out.

Years ago, Mallery made a tach drive with electronic ignition. Other choices is to get an after market electronic system like Jacobs, and put it on your stock distributor. If you want it to look like a HEI then get the Morosso cap-adapt and put it on.
