[QUOTE=2MuchRiceMakesMeSick]I know its just a sketch but I really like the new aggressive look!
I really hope they come out with a hardtop version.
The C7 Corvette codenamed GMX711. Winding Road tells us that final
designs were to be presented to GM Design Chief Ed Welburn this month
while the introduction is set for 2011. A significant date for sure as the
bowtie celebrates 100 years in 2011.
looks like the Cadillac EVOQ

That's obviously some internet nerd's photochop. If they are actually going to a whole new generation (c7) they're not going to re-use the same headlights or use a front end that looks almost identical, or the same wheels, etc.
And it looks like crap. I don't want Euro-mid engine sports car, I want Front engine American muscle. I'm still having a hard time understanding the "mid-engine is better" theme, I think the c6z06 and even c5z06 proved that a non issue with their nurburgring times and road racing domination.

Ding ding ding. As far as the design, sooner or later performance gets to the point where it affects appearance and starts to move the Corvette in a non-traditional direction. We're getting to that point. I love the wider, lower look with bulges all over for brake ducting, air intake, etc.

Not that I do or don't think it wil be midengine. It may just be...obviously they've been thinking of doing it for decades. They keep just making the current setup work. However, I think they may be at the limits of the current drivetrain/susp layout. The reason i say that is, the C6 100k car will have well in excess of 600hp, weigh even less than the current Z06. So that means the new c7platform will have to handle a minimum of 475ish hp, just in the base c7 coupe. God knows what the c7 supercars will have,by the pace we are going... 700hp?750??????? Seems crazy, but tell someone we'd be getting the same or better mpg now than then...and we'd be a good couple hundred lbs lighter...and have a couple hundred more horsepower yadda yadda, they would never believe you. So who knows.
Like i said, I think they may have reached the limits of the current setup. The C6Z is really not that much faster at allaround a tight road course without any long straightaways, especially for what you pay for. Hell, some people prefer the c5z around a racetrack to the new Z. I've heard things that the new one is a little tricky to control at higher speeds (still miles better than its competition most of the time) They added a 100hp, and other crap, 30k in msrp, and its not realy anything to talk about as diffrence around a road course. Like I said, I've read several people who prefer driving a c5z around a track to a C6Z. Obviously a C6z will shine at a longer track simply because of power on the long straights..
end of novel

Change is good but it looks like other cars that are already out. Doesn't look nimble at all, something a corvette should be.
Good thing these are just sketches.
