Who's Ran 12's Stock Or With DR Tires Only
Has anyone with a stock LS1 Trans Am or Camaro with DR tires only or with stock tires made it in the 12's?
I've seen this Camaro which ran 12.69 @ 110 mph with M/T tires only...

I know of quite a few LS1 F-bodies that made it into the 12s bone stock (manuals and automatics), the quickest among them being a 12.8x (possibly a 12.7x) I believe.
And I do mean factory/showroom bone stock down to the tires and paper air filter.
The addition of drag radials would likely help an otherwise stock manual car go well into the 12.6s (maybe even 12.5s) with a great driver in good air/DA as that video shows.
I went 12.8s on factory stock tires in my automatic but I wasn't bone stock of course (lid/K&N, thermostat and somewhat useless Hypertech programmer, but using very few of it's functions/parameters though).

There were a few guys out there that ran into the high 12s with a good driver and a great DA, but in my experience (and under less than ideal conditions), low to mid 13s are the norm. That's with an average driver and a +2000-ish DA (which was a standard summer day where I ran).

my junker (02 ws6 6speed) with a lid/filter only and some crappy bf goodslick dr's ran 8.2s 1/8 so that would have been 12.9's or 12.8s. 60' was still only i think a 1.93 so there was room for improvement.

I went 8.37, which is about a 12.85-12.92ish, on Ten year old dry rotted goodyears with only a lid and freemods. And that was in So,so air..1422da. Had a got a chance to run the following week in -300da, then i probably would have went 8.1x.
Drag radials will easily put me in the high 7's 1/8, Low 12's 1/4

I can't find a pic of the slip online, but I still have it somewhere.
My base model/flat hood '01 T/A (still own it but it is far from stock now) ran 12.97@108.4 in early 2002 with just OEM 17" Firehawk wheels and 275/40/17 Nitto 555R-II road race tires (not even drag radials and they were up front too).
In fact, here is the original thread about it: https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...-t-nittos.html
EDIT: Found it

Some pretty damn impressive times... It just annoys me that people don't think LS1 can get into the 12's stock or with sticky tires. Don't know how many times I've heard that! Its like just because they don't see it on Youtube or some bs it didn't happen
Good numbers for a full exhaust, gears & tires

I went 12.6 @ 112.8 1.9 60' with a lid, freemods, udp and poopy mac headers ory on the stock catback. The tire was a Yokohama a032r autox tire. My buddy did a 3rd to 2nd shift and blew it up for me. That's when the ls6 showed up. I wish I could've kept tinkering with the ls1. I think it had more in it.

Well if you think about it, breaking into the 12's with these cars when stock is not really the norm. When F-Bodies were still fairly new, many major magazines and other types of car publications usually recorded times around the mid-high 13's with them. So, I think a lot of people just went off of that and never bothered to look any deeper into it.
