dissapointing 1/8 mile times. why??
Ok, took my 2000 camaro to the track today for the first time ever. My car has 3.73 pacesetter lts, ory, full exhaust system, slp lid stock tune. the temps were in mid 80s with 73% humidity on the first 3 passes. the car ran 9.17 2.31 60ft @80. i made a total of 7 passes and the 60 ft stayed consistent as well as the the et dropped with every pass all the way to 9.28,2.36 60ft@80.6mph. The temps dropped and so did my times?? i had zero spin on any of my passes so thats not an issue. these numbers look normal?? i know it was hot and muggy but i am real dissapointed in these numbers.

What kinda tires are you on? when my car was stock on street tires the best 60 i could manage was 2.3-4s i changed to a 275/40/17 MT ET street and went 1.9s and 8.5s @ 83... is it an a4 or m6... personally i believe a bolt on car will work without a tune those mods you can get away without it... just depends on what your goals are with the car.

That 60' is killing you. If traction wasn't an issue then you should've tried launching harder. Tires make it easier, but you can easily pull 1.8-1.9 60s on street tires if you're on a budget (depending on your track, etc). I have similar mods as you and run 7.9-8.1. That stock tune is definitely holding you back after the launch. You're looking at a half second with a tune.

Agreed . Even a canned tune would be better than stock. I d send your computer off to frost or a reputable tuner. You ll be happy with the results. My car bone stock with a sld lid and cat delete did 86 mph with a canned tune.

Ok the car is an a4. i could get no spin off the line and was footbraking the car to around 2200 at launch.
Ever since i owned this car it has been a dog off the start. on the street it will barley spin the tires but seems to turn on at 2500, its like you hit the "on" switch. it just has normal street tires. i am wondering if the converter is bad?? i am going to build another motor for this car but want to upgrade the rearend, trans, amd suspension first. would like to see the car run 11.50 so i dont have to cage it to race at the track. For now i just want to see whats up with it leaving the line like someone is pushing it!

no traction issues with a 3.73 rear and full bolt on LS1..? I want to go to your track lol. All stock at my local 1/8th mile on streets I slip out of the hole and spin the 1-2 everytime... got out of the groove once and lit em up on the 1-2 shift actually.. nice show, no go (10.2 1/8th mile that pass lmao).
On a more serious note, stock stall converter? that would help your 60ft and times, but wouldn't do anything for the MPH... something is going on there, worst MPH I've had in my car was on a hot muggy day like yours, it was 80.78mph with cat-back duals only (no lid no tune nothing else). best mph before was 83.2... but this is an M6 car so there may be a difference there.

I ran a 9.1 @ 80.39 my first time taking the car out. Mines a 99, and was stock except for a flowmaster catback that a previous owner had put together at a exhaust shop. I have an A4 with 2.73's, and was running 2.24 60fts. Weather was probably really close to yours. Not sure how you were revving to 2200 without spinning, I was launching closer to 1700 and that was too high, was spinning rather bad off the line.
